I haven't done this lesson yet but I'm sharing it now since it's only relevant this week.

Preparation: Download and print the text and the worksheet for each student, download this video from YouTube.

Warmer (5 min): Teacher shows the "LEGO - Halloween Special 2014" video and asks students what they think about the video and has them guess what the lesson is about

Core materials (20): Students read texts about Halloween traditions in different countries and do the vocabulary exercise and the quiz by themselves first, then compare answers with their neighbour. Teacher asks students for words they don't know and explains a few. Then discusses the answers to the exercises.

Communicative exercise (15 min): Students discuss the discussion questions in groups of four, then teacher collects answers with everyone for a few minutes.

Am schwierigsten ist es, Material für die richtigen Anfänger, A1 oder A0, zu finden oder zu erfinden, wenn man Stunden zusätzlich zum regulären Unterricht gibt. Mit einem Wortschatz von 50 Wörtern sind die Variationen einfach begrenzt und die Aufgaben und Spiele müssen extrem leicht verständlich sein, schließlich kann ich ungefähr so viel Chinesisch, wie meine Kleinsten Deutsch und Englisch, nämlich so gut wie gar nicht...

Das deutsche Sudoku zum Zahlen lernen ist heute bei meinen Sechstklässern ganz gut angekommen. Ich musste auch nichts erklären, Sudoku ist wohl international bekannt.

Herzlich Willkommen auf meinem DAF und ESL Blog!
Ich arbeite seit September als Deutsch- und Englischlehrerin an einer Mittelschule in Shanghai. Es ist meine erster Vollzeitjob als Lehrerin. Da ich wenig mit Schulbüchern arbeite und sehr unterschiedliche Klassen und Niveaus habe, muss ich die meisten meiner Materalien selbst erstellen. Das ist viel Arbeit und damit vielleicht andere LehrerInnen auch davon profitieren können, habe ich diesen Blog angefangen, um meine Materialien und Entwürfe zu teilen. Die DAF-Posts werden auf Deutsch sein und die ESL-Posts auf Englisch.
Ich freue mich auf Kommentare und Tipps von anderen LehrerInnen und allen, die Interesse an DAF und ESL haben!!



Welcome to my DAF and ESL blog!
I started working as a German and English teacher at a Middle School in Shanghai in September. It is my first job as a full-time teacher. Since I don't work with textbooks a lot and my classes and their language levels are very different from each other, I have to create most of the teaching materials myself. It’s a lot of work and it seems a waste not to share it with other teachers so that they can benefit from it. So I’ve started this blog to share my teaching materials and maybe some of my lesson plans. The DAF posts will be in German and the ESL posts in English.
I’m looking forward to comments and suggestions from all my fellow teachers and anyone interested in DAF and ESL!!
